Eric Posted Saturday at 18:06 Posted Saturday at 18:06 Every time I wash the Elise (and Evora) I do a quick run round the block with liberal applications of left foot braking to dry the discs and pads out, before they go back in the garage. Never had any trouble with long pedal or squealing. Def. worth doing for the health of the discs, plus it releases all the trapped water in the bodywork's little crevices (which can then be wiped off so no water marks 🙂). However, I did have a set of Tar.Ox discs on the front of the Evora for a while and they squealed like buggery no matter what pads I tried (was slightly embarrassing in slow moving traffic!!). So I went back to EliseParts cheapest front discs and hey presto, same pads, no squeal. I still have the Tar.Ox discs on the shelf, so might just try a thorough de-grease and try 'em again. Quote

Yep, always run the cars 5-10 miles after a wash to dry brakes off before putting back in the garage. Deglaze of pads plus cleaning the discs has got rid of the squeal for now, so will monitor and decide in the spring if I’m going to try a new set of discs and pads Quote
