Alex B Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 i've been to look at a elise 135R running a 160bhp-ish DVA kit. being a 135R its running a slightly different ecu to standard. is it nessecary to run a standalone ecu unit?
Martin R Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Not normally. Get the owner to give you a ride in it and see how it performs.
olliecast Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 As martin says, the proof is in the pudding. Id still like to see how mine lacks to a properly tuned motor
JonS Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Instead of selling yours Alex, why not get DVA to have a play with it? My 119bhp is now 148bhp /147FtLb thanks to Dave, completely changed it performance. In fact, you should come for a ride next time your down here.
Alex B Posted July 5, 2013 Author Posted July 5, 2013 Tbh to have the dva head work, and all the other mods this car has done I'd be spending more than its gonna cost me to change. Been out with the guy On A 20/30min drive and it behaves well apart from cutting out when he blipped the throttle a little at a set of lights, although the car didn't so this again afterwards...
