JulianT Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Got mine refurbished a while back so it's in pretty good shape apart from it's getting really faded from being outside all of the time and of course all the lovely sunshine we have. I would say you can make out the lines of the roof components in the fabric when the soft top is removed. Would be good if I could find a way to enhance the colour back to the original blue. I've read a number of threads from other Lotus forums and they all seemed to be quite negative about the idea but I'm thinking the S1 roof isn't that complicated, i.e. it's only a single layer. Surely you redye it and then re water proof it? Just thought I would ask Cheers Julian
Jonathan E Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 http://compare.ebay....&ff14=65&ff19=0 Try this before you dye it, its a bit like the Autoglym product but ten times better. Needs a bit of elbow grease but results are brilliant. Have a trawl of the web for possible cheaper prices. Hth Thats for a black hood but they also do one for blue iirc
P4N Lotus Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 I've used this I easy and works , just paint it on with a bush instant colour refresh and protects too
worldwidewebs Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Used it many times - very good stuff and well worthwhile doing
wozza Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I have used the complete Renovo kit twice since owning my Elise - its very good and way better than the Autoglym kit which doesn't have the dye.
les Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Just redyed by roof yesterday using Renovo. Having used both Renovo and the Autoglym products in the past, Autoglym proofer seems to wear off a lot quicker than Renovo.
wozza Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 ^^ Remember when washing the roof, to just use plain water or a very very weak shampoo solution, unless you intend to re-proof it. The shampoo will start to breakdown the wateproofer.
JulianT Posted June 10, 2013 Author Posted June 10, 2013 Thanks guys, knew you would point me in the right direction. Cheers
