I've seen this car for sale before when i was looking before christmas and it was advertised as a 111 then, not a 111S.

Hi - I may be able to shed a little light on this.

Quoting from Alastair Clements book 'Lotus Elise' - In June 2002 the most civilised, most comfortable Elise yet appeared with the launch of the S2 111S. The new model was originally to be available as the 111, a pure power upgrade with spartan interior and a price tag of £25,995, but in reality few - if any - were sold without the extra £2000 that turned it into the plusher 111S, with extra spec including leather upholstery and carpets.

So I would read this as a 111 car without the S option pack!

Many thanks for the replies. So from what I've read it seems like the following:

+ it's a 111 and an owner in the past has added 111S graphics (it does say in the ad that he has added some tasteful graphics but I assumed it was the little GB flag)

+ it's a 111 but all came with 111S graphics from new.

Either way when my buyer picks up the car at the weekend I shall "go hunting" :-)

Cheers

Looking at the pics I'd definitely say its a 111, which would have originally had 111 stickers as per item 23b here: http://www.deroure.com/diagrams.asp?TBL=1345&MAK=1&MDL=14&SMA=0&SMO=0&ST=&SC=0

I got the receipt out for my 111s this morning, I paid £26230 for it from Williams in Bristol, so I think the S may well have been 2k on the list price, but certainly wasn't what some paid over and above the standard 111. It appears to be totally original, and so I find it hard to believe that the discs, if they have been changed, wouldn't have been replaced with cross drilled items.

All in, it looks like a really nice, original, well looked after car, but I would be looking closely at S prices as a guide to what I'd be prepared to pay.
