JohnnyM
short and sweet, can't decide between orange with black alloys or yellow with black alloys, or black with black alloys.... anyway, my questions are: 1) Whats the service interval on an s2 exige, is it a similar A,B,C format like on the K series cars ? 2) tyres - how many miles ? 3) Wet weather handling ? entertaining or downright scary ? Thats all for now..... Johnny M
Mark H
0.5) Gotta be Orange Black looks good when clean but is hard to keep clean. 1) Not sure, think its 10k an S2 Exiger will confirm (Edit: I was close, corrected to 9k ) 2) 6-7k road use 3) Meant to be surprisingly good in the wet (as long as its not standing water) on the 48 tyres considering the little tread they have. halfpenny
Red with black wheels is the one to go for IMHO...... I almost bought a black one but it was the dealers demo car (aka had the arse thrashed off of it !) To answer your questions though. 1. 9,000. Cost is about £300 all in from a dealer. Chris_h on here who has a yellow Exige gets his car serviced at the factory - not sure how much that is though. 2. I had to replace my rears at 6,400 miles - General concensus is 6 - 6.5k for the 48's. Cost is again around £320 for two rears fitted, but shop around (only available from Lotus dealers) 3. As long as you take it steady, it's fine. I was on the the M1 on Saturday afternoon driving down to Northampton and got caught in a very heavy rain / hail storm. Dropped it down to 40-50mph in the slow lane once I felt the car go "light" over the standing water. Then I had to contend with the tsunami's caused by lorries overtaking me.....but I'd rather be safe than sorry. HTH
JohnnyM
Cheers guys already.... 9k isnt too shabby really is it for an interval..... surprised that those tyres last that long actually ! beefcakes right, black is a nightmare to keep clean, had that problem on the 160. Clean it and leave it in the garage, and make sure you take a duster out with you in the morning...... LOL thats black ruled out, i forgot what a nightmare that was, drive it once and it looks like its never been cleaned ! Currently erring on the side of Orange over black alloys..... looks mean ! Waiting for the ford dealer to come back to me with a price to have my Focus RS back off me and then when i've shuffled some money about i'll be on my way to an s2 exige i suspect. Orange is an "Extreme Paint" Colour isnt it ??? Halfpenny - I know what you mean, my s160 had mostly bald P-zero's on when i got it and that was like driving a shopping trolley down the motorway, each wheel independent in it's desired direction, although i imagine the 48's to be probably more extreme still !! malbon
John, Gotta be Orange !!! Black is high maintenance and yellow is too much of a contrast with black alloys and exterior plastic trim on the S2. Put a poll on !
Snapper
Black: Having seen a black S2 Exige I don't think it shows the lines of that well and never tempted me to get one. Orange: Looks fantastic in the sun and really set off the lines of the car. But it costs more and when you get stone chips it will also cost a lot more to have the front resprayed. Yellow: I think looks almost as good as the Orange and looks great with the contrast of the black trimming... (In fact possibly the best contract option in my opinion). The only other option that I think looks great is the Silver because that also has a good contrast. I like the Red for the Baby Farrari feel..... But I think the Red works better on the Elise for that. (Sorry Steve ) I have got the Blue car which wasn't my first choice of colours but thats life, Its growing on me more now. malbon
its a tough life isn't is snapper ?! Think I like the Orange cos it was the first exige I saw on the pages of EVO. Looked great. Must admit I like the EVO guys Scandal Green type car. Like he said - you have a silly car, you have a silly colour !
Snapper
Malbon Life is tough but for the price I paid for the Car wasn't tought , so I couldn't argue about the colour. If it was pink then I may have had a problem.

mattyp
Black: Having seen a black S2 Exige I don't think it shows the lines of that well and never tempted me to get one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Knackers! Black is the best colour, looks so mean, mine was recently described by a friend as "the devil's automobile"! Ain't no lie that its a bitch to keep clean though! It seems to be trying to repaint itself - the rear diffuser sprays the back end with shite, and the engine then bakes it on! Shame you're not going to be able to keep the RS as well Johnny. chris_h
Go for orange, it'll look nearly as good as mine !! There's already another yellow one with a lotus sport sticker exactly the same as mine driving around the Derby area The black one that the dealer had looked great when clean but you did loose all the black details/mesh which i think make the exige. dss123
Gotta be orange with black. Looks fantastic on my S1 111S so would look truly awsome on an Exige. Must admit, think I'd be tempted by Krypton Green - looks insane! Duncs
mattyp
Must admit, think I'd be tempted by Krypton Green<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Put your hands up, and step away from the crack-pipe! I can kinda see the attraction of orange, but the Exorcist Green is just vile.
