Stumason10 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I'm looking for a bodyshop to do a basic patch up job on the bucket as it is now quite shabby. Any ideas?? Cheers Stu
Ladders Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 May be a bit far for you but I always took mine here: http://www.paulsmotorbodyrepairs.co.uk/ Perhaps they would discount if you put some stickers on as I think they do stuff for race cars etc.
PeterField Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Stu, i'd highly recommend Tardebigge Bodyshop just on the outskirts of Redditch. They've done loads of work for me over the years and have also looked after quite a few MLOC'ers in the recent past, they also do a lot of work for Paul Matty's these days. If it's not too far from you, their number's 01527 550422, ask for Jeff and make sure you tell him i sent you!!! I'm sure he can sort out whatever sort of repair you're after, be it quick and cheap or full concourse standard.
S1 Steve Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Stu just had a quote of a guy in kirkby in ashfield junction 27 on the M1. he's done a few elises and is fiberglass trained ( boats originally) He was recommended by a friend whose elise he repaired. Let me know if you want his details.
Dr H Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 This place in Swadlincote are great. http://www.midlandslotus.co.uk/forum/index...c=30578&hl=
Phil S1 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Not used them for fibreglass repairs but L W Smart's in Alfreton did a good spray job for me. Ask for Leigh Watson 01773 835159. Edited to add link... clicky

Just after some recomendations and then will fire up the camera, take some shots and send off for quotes. Not looking for concours. Local and cheap is better!! (Just like all the best women too (joke))!! Stu
Howard Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Local and cheap is better!! (Just like all the best women too (joke))!! Stu I've never yet found a cheap woman, they are all damn expensive. Me a cynic ... probably.
kid phunk Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 swifts performance in sheffield re-built my mangled front clam and resprayed for £800
Ladders Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Stu, considering that you 'may' bump the car again would it be worth doing a DIY job? Or don't you have time/CBA?
Steve J Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I have a load of fibreglass stuff if you need it Stu
Dr H Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 swifts performance in sheffield re-built my mangled front clam and resprayed for £800 Is that place still run by Dave Underwood? Classic case of a bloke who seems to have a chip on his shoulder becuase he's short!
richbk Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Is that place still run by Dave Underwood? Classic case of a bloke who seems to have a chip on his shoulder becuase he's short! lol leigh, that is without doubt one of the most random and amusing replies i've seen for ages....are you tall per chance?? stu if your not sorted yet, my mate own s a garage and has repaired a good few fibreglass cars, including his current rebuild a noble mc-12 which had a similar accident to yours by the sounds of things. hes at the other end of the a50 in longton stoke on trent. i willb forward him the pics when you taken them if you pm them to me, for a quote. richbk
Stumason10 Posted October 16, 2009 Author Posted October 16, 2009 The car is stored under its duvet on the farm at the moment and will stay there unyil I decide what I am doing with it... Since the weekend I am half considering selling up....But, that's probably the disappointment and self annoyance at the moment... When I have decided what to do, which bank to rob, I'll revisit the post and plan next steps. I am looking for a patch up job as it may happen again....
