British Gt Championship – Brands Hatch 2012

Lotus Sport UK qualified second in the GT4 class in Kent, but failed to make the finish, Sailesh Bolisetti retiring with damaged front suspension. The Evora was 3/10ths off the lead Ginetta in qualifying, with Phil Glew setting the lap for Lotus, but with better long range pace the team was confident it could dominate the race. However, starting driver Bolisetti struggled to match the pace of his rivals and slipped back. An off-track excusion led to the front wishbones being snapped and, after nine laps, it was game over for the Indian.

Gary Ayles, team principal: “A disappointing day because we could have won that race by a country mile. The car is great, we’re right on top of it, it’s a proper bit of kit. So we need to look into why Sailesh wasn’t able to extract the maximum on race day. Now we have a long break, as our next race at Snetterton – Lotus’s home track – isn’t until the first weekend of August. It can’t come soon enough.”

    S1 Elise (Rover/111S Hybrid) Running Rich: High CO & Unstable Idle on Emerald ECU

    Hi. I am the owner of a Rover-engined Elise S1, and I am having several combustion-related issues. I bought the car 2 years ago. Right from the start, I was surprised by how much carbon soot it produced and how unstable the idle was, to the point of stalling if I wasn't quick enough to give it some gas. The previous owner told me everything was fine, so I assumed it was just a simple fault. The following year, I took it for its ITV (the Spanish MOT) and saw the emissions test results: CO at

    Elise S3 speakers

    Any recommendations for speakers to replace the OEM ones in an S3 Elise? Currently have the in-dash fronts only but want to fit rear ones also. Got a new stereo (Power Acoustic CP-71W) ready to fit once I get the car back from the suspension investigation and wanting to do the speakers too, think adding the rears will improve the sound and what I can hear, esp when the roof is off. Have updated the stereo firmware already so it does Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay now
