P4N Lotus
It's still bugging me, no one seems to know what is it, had multiple garages look no idea, only theories, other threads on other forums also don't say what. Mechanics have said it's definitely not cv joint. They believe it's something withing the hand brake drum causing it. I'm inclined to think this also, the clicking goes when handbrake is applied to a certain point whilst driving. Still happens on footbrake is applied. Sound is like a metallic click, like something is catching on the revolutions at low speed. Not tired in reverse, not noticed in reverse so maybe it's only forward motion. Any suggestions what could be from section diagram?
Reg
Can you not jack the car up and rotate the wheel to locate the culprit?
P4N Lotus
tried that but doesn't seem to do it when there's no pressure/force/weight on to the ground.

Alex B
Its not inside the tyre ?????????????? Worth trying this... It'll only cost you 10/15quid to have the tyre off and on again.

P4N Lotus
well just back. nothing loose in tire, nothing in tred or caught, still no idea what it was.wwas.we noticed it appears that drum was rubbing and may have been catching as there were signs of sporadic wear and one area where there has been rubbing on both sides. we also noticed that the side making most noise the drum plate bit had been slightly bent in and down, only very slightly a millimeter maybe dunno if you can tell on the pic. easier to tell from top part. but directly underneath the bit that was slightly bent in it was wearing more directly under and on the area where it was bent. hammered back, also had thorough clean, degrease, wash, sand down drum and discs, wash again then thorough blow out. possibly might be dry bearing beyond the cv joint but going to see how it goes. just been out, seems to have cured it , for how long don't know. very bizarre
P4N Lotus
Month on, clicking sounds like it's coming back... Does anyone have any idea what might be causing it? No one on any forums seems to know , lotus didn't have any comments, lots of evora owners have reported it, just seems like a massive mystery
