Robo Elise Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Went for a blast earlier from Loughborough to Melton Mowbray then just before Melton town centre turned onto the B6047 to Market Harborough. Read about it in an article in last months Evo mag. Also was mentioned on some biker site as a good one;-) Really enjoyed it but probably more so going back the opposite way when I reached Market Harborough. Give it try if you live nearby:-)

Hi Scatty!! It was the story where some guy had an Elise Club Racer on loan and decided to see if he could drive from Leicestershire to France to buy a bottle of champagne and then get back to his local pub before closing time!!! Think they must have ran out of champers at the pub. He made it just in time:-) He mentioned the B road as one of his favs. Quite fancy trying it myself;-)

chrislane Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I ended up giving the b6047 a run this morning - a few great bits of road interspesed by the odd village. Certainly a lot of fun. 10.30 on a sunday morning probably wasn't the best time as it was a bit busy which got a little frustrating. Saw a lovely looking evora, a caterham and an aston enjoying the road aswell, and had some good fun with a few bikers who couldn't touch the elise through the corners but were certainly giving it some on the straightish bits that joined them up! There were lots of bikes! All in all a big thumbs up from me - do it early in the day though before it gets busy!
Robo Elise Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 On Sat afternoon I hardly had a car or bike in front or behind me! Was lucky. Think everybody was at work :-) When there was a bike it quickly disappeared into the distance on the straights! They are crazy people;-)
scatty Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 someone told me today, take the a606 to melton b6047 to market harborough, turn around and drive back. then take the b676 to colsterworth, colsterworth to corby glen, then the b1176 to grantham.... if its nice sunday i may give it a whirl......
SkyBlue Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Yep the b6047 is a great road. Watchout for the camera vans though, one Sunday I drove it 3 out of 4 villages had a camera van in it!
