We wish you Merry Driftmas and a Hethel New Year

While many look back over the year during the festive season, Lotus looks sideways in the #DriftmasEvora.
Delivering a Christmas tree with a 410hp sleigh, the engineering elves at Lotus wanted an ingenious way to transport a Christmas tree using an Evora GT410 Sport.

The first-ever #MerryDriftmas video, created by Lotus, sees a festive delivery with a difference - all filmed on site at its Hethel home in Norfolk.

While most Christmas trees travel strapped to roof racks or stuffed in car boots, Lotus knew it could do it differently with carbon fibre, a little welding and a lot of burning rubber. Using closed roads, and with thanks to an understanding security guard, the two-minute video encompasses the whole facility, and even includes two of the marque’s most famous cars (and a bike). Extra points for your viewers if they can spot and name them.

Intended as a light-hearted way to mark the festive period, the video celebrates Lotus sports cars and the pure pleasure of driving. This film was created on closed roads using professional drivers, and no attempt should be made to recreate the driving shown.

Lotus wishes its customers and fans around the world a very Merry Driftmas and a Happy New Year.

  • Saturday drive out and swim

Great drive out to Hathersage this morning for a swim in the open air pool which is fab, heated to 28deg all year. First proper drive out on quiet roads after changing squealing 2 piece disks for EBC turbos so I could properly enjoy the car. What a machine 😍💨

One off track day insurance Donington 21st Sept

Evening all . i am doing a track day at Donington on Monday and have discovered I dropped track insurance off my policy in 2018 as I hadn’t done 1 the previous year . My annual policy is £296 this year so I was a little shocked to find Adrian  flux could only offer me a 1 day policy at £213 for 1 DAY !. can anyone recommend a better priced company to cover me ?? And almost as importantly is anyone else here booked for Monday, would be nice to see some familiar faces.

    The Wait is Excruciating...

I posted here back in July - placed a factory order for an Elise 220 (first time Lotus owner, dream car!) which was originally due this week, but it got delayed back to mid-October! Oakmere updated me with the chassis number a couple of weeks ago and it was in "paint" at that stage. Based on another member's reply to my other thread I had asked if they could get some photo's of it being built, but Lotus haven't sent any over yet. What's 5 more weeks right?.... 😩

Hi all, Just been messaging Scott Scotty on Instagram and joined up. I’m based in Sheffield, any locals? I’ve recently jumped into my Club Racer finally getting a proper Lotus having had a VX220 when I was 23 back in the day!  Just treated myself to a valved 2bular system...it’s a thing of beauty to hear! 😂 Be delighted to join you on some runs out and meet you all soon Cheers Matt

    Bye for now

My last Lotus went at the weekend and it feels like the end of an era. Ten years ish continuous ownership and probably 15 years since I bought my first. They have been very good to me over the years but strangely I haven’t missed one of them yet. I’m sure I’ll be back at some point down the line but I have other priorities in my life at the mo. All the best to you all and I’m sure our paths will cross sooner or later.
