Award given to Lotus for having “revolutionised and disrupted its sector” during the last year

Ongoing enhancements to the brand, including new corporate identity and ‘For the Drivers’ tagline, singled out for praise

Lotus CEO Phil Popham paid tribute to employees working tirelessly to take the brand to new levels of success

(Hethel, UK – 29 October 2019) – Lotus has won the prestigious ‘Luxury Brand of the Year’ award at the annual Luxury Briefing Awards 2019. The car maker was honoured at a gala ceremony staged at The Savoy, London in front of more than 350 VIP guests.

Founded in 1996, Luxury Briefing provides industry reports, analysis and expert opinion across all sectors of the luxury industry. ‘Luxury Brand of the Year’ is one of the top awards and chosen by the organisation’s board of directors. In selecting Lotus, Sir Eric Peacock, Chairman of Luxury Briefing, said Lotus has “revolutionised and disrupted its sector by blowing away all boundaries and limitations with an energetic burst of innovation and repositioning”.

Praise was given for ongoing enhancements to the Lotus brand, which to date have included a new corporate identity, new ‘For the Drivers’ brand tag line, and a complete overhaul of its digital presence. Sir Eric acknowledged Lotus’ commitment to top-level motorsport through the Evora GT4 Concept, the Premier League football partnership with Norwich City, and a collaboration on elite cycling performance through the expanding Lotus Engineering consultancy.

However, what excited the Luxury Briefing team most was the launch of the all-electric Lotus Evija hypercar. Sir Eric called it “a game-changer of a new car” which had raised the brand’s global profile massively. It marks the start of an ambitious and exciting new product plan that will grow the brand over the next decade.

Phil Popham, CEO, Lotus cars, collected the award and commented: “We are a performance car company with bold ambitions for the future, so to be recognised and honoured as a luxury brand at this stage of our journey is a fantastic achievement. This award is for everyone in the Lotus family around the world who is working tirelessly to grow our brand and achieve new levels of success. I’m confident it will the first of many from outside the automotive sector.”

Other brands recognised at the awards include Princess Yachts, Hennessey XO, Selfridges, Fortnum & Mason, Timothy Oulton, Creed Boutique, Aston Martin and Bentley.

  • Fun covid19 activities.

First day of no pubs, no coffee shops, restaurants etc.  Spent a fair few hours driving round the empty country roads in the Lotus with no particular place to go.  My 6 year old came to, and whizzed around until he was actually sick.  Been to Halfords and spent too much money on car care shit.   Tomorrows highlight- washing the car 😕 How has everyone else filled their time?

    Front Clam removal Elise S3

does anyone have a guide to removing the front clam on the Elise S3? or is it generally similar to the S2 removal? The reason I want to remove the clam is I think the resistor pack may have failed or be in the process of failing, I'm assuming that it cant be removed any other way?   any help would be greatly appreciated

    Suspension refresh advice

I'm after some advice please, from those on MLOC that have more technical knowledge than me - which is probably most of you! My car is going in to Gav's in January to 'refresh' the suspension.  The wishbones are coming off and need rustproofing - I'm thinking POR 15, is that best? And should I have them passivated first? Also, what bushes should I use? I don't want it to be harsh as it is mostly used on the road. And what about arb bushes? Are there any of those to avoid? Any

Just put new battery in after 1 yr sitting idle. Neither alarm or immobiliser working.

Well as ive a bit of time on my hands i went to dig out the S1. As above i fitted a new battery in the car and in the fob, went to start and alarm light on dash flasing but no alarm sounding. Ignition lights coming on but not starting. I presume the cobra alarm and immobiliser is just not de activating. I dont have the manual code I've read about and the dealers are shut due to Covid. Now the dash alarm light is just flashing constantly Anyone any pointers?

The Mustard Yellow Elise S1 Refresh Thread

So last September I purchased my 5th Elise S1, almost 20 years since I bought my first one back in the day.   It's a high mileage example, but had recently had a part restoration done by the previous owner, including a full suspension refurb with new Nitrons, Ally Radiator and all new brakes with Ultimax Turbo discs, amongst several other things.  However I knew when I bought it that I’d need to spend some time (and money) getting it right, but the “no brainer” price I paid and taking into accou
