  1. Hi Dan I haven't shown either of mine at shows but I regularly visit them to drool over some of the metal / plastic / carbon on show! Last year's Piston Heads show at Bicester Heritage was spectacular with a huge variety of cars on show. There was a Lotus specific area though organised by the Lotus Drivers Club, so I'd recommend joining LDC if attending or showing your car at events is what you're looking for (and getting suitable advice on prep.). Here's a little taste of the stuff on show at last year's (2025) Piston Heads gathering though... Cheers, Eric
  2. Excellent Ray - and a second steering wheel for the Mrs too 😉. Merry Christmas everyone, and a very Happy New Year.
  3. Every time I wash the Elise (and Evora) I do a quick run round the block with liberal applications of left foot braking to dry the discs and pads out, before they go back in the garage. Never had any trouble with long pedal or squealing. Def. worth doing for the health of the discs, plus it releases all the trapped water in the bodywork's little crevices (which can then be wiped off so no water marks 🙂). However, I did have a set of Tar.Ox discs on the front of the Evora for a while and they squealed like buggery no matter what pads I tried (was slightly embarrassing in slow moving traffic!!). So I went back to EliseParts cheapest front discs and hey presto, same pads, no squeal. I still have the Tar.Ox discs on the shelf, so might just try a thorough de-grease and try 'em again.

This is actually an SC which is based on the 2ZZ engine but has a titchy integrated supercharger. It does boost peak power and torque but the engine still needs plenty of revs (aka a lot) to feel the difference. I did own an SC for several years and loved it, but the Elise S that replaced it (with 2ZR and discrete Magnuson supercharger) blows it out of the water.
