Hello.
Been to look at a car. The top wishbone mount has been repaired. Not happy with this but wondering how repairable this is?
Can it be put right and repaired fully and if so how difficult and how expensive?

Many thanks

Walk away.   Don’t even consider it unless you know who repaired it and how it was done.   Even then, it needs to be very cheap because of the impact on resale value.

Plenty of S1’s for sale so just find one without chassis repairs.

Thanks, it was well priced in the right colour so was a tempting car, but the potential issues / failure I needed to explore. Had some good advice as one of the key areas to check out prior to viewing from the forums…..otherwise I would have had it to deal with….

What Dave says above.

Even if you buy it and it doesn't fail you will never sell it.

Just get a proper one, even if it means borrowing a bit more.

Thanks for the replies. Is was priced around the £10k mark so was tempting, but only if safe and reasonable to properly repair. (Which it seems isn’t that possible from previous comments) which is a shame.

Some of the recent prices advertised just seem very high for what can be written off with a pretty minor bump. The ones advertised from breakers at present would seem like crazy buys given the potential issues. Need to keep looking or think of alternatives.
