Jonathan E
Hi Ant, I found the best way to change it was to tackle it from underneath, it’s only held on by two bolts but the nuts are not retained so an extra pair of hands are extremely useful, but was possible on my own. Disconnect the wiring from the top then jack up, remove rear undertray and undo the retaining nuts, long extension bars passed through from the drivers side did the trick for me, once I’d loosened the nuts it was pretty straight forward. Reassemble using new motor.
MG Ant
Thx vm Jonathan. Will see how the clicks progress... will need to work outside, so maybe this is a job for a dry day in June/July... I guess standard Rover starter is fine?
Jonathan E
It seems that there is a 10 tooth and a 12 tooth version, however I was lead to believe that the 12 tooth is an upgrade of the 10? Bosch part number is 0001107080 they’re not the cheapest unfortunately Unless you can find a very kind fellow Mlocer who’s happy to donate one for a charity donation
