Is This The End Of Track Days In France.....

As some of you know LOT are not able to offer track days at Le Mans next year due to some crazy regulation being introduced about different weight classes of car being on the track at the same time where the limits are -

 

Road cars up to 800 kg

Road cars 800 kg to 2000 kg

Road cars over 2000 kg

 

Obviously the 800 kg is right in the middle of the weight range of many Lotus models which makes it unrealistic for LOT to run the day.

 

I all for safety and see that it's not ideal to have overweight mega-powered cars on track with such light cars but the 800 kg limit has not been thought through, More info and a petition can be signed here -

Yes just in France at the moment, who knows in the future though :-(
