Simon, i must admit i always thought 15w - 50 was a tad thick for a VHPD. I will speak to Tim before i order my next batch smile.png

It is, the trouble with revvy stock short engines though is the 80mm liner is very thin, the block open decked and the liner typical of most OEMs cast iron all be it spun post 2001, and the liners get knocked out of shape - so with any mileage if you are not going to rebuild a heavier oil might help. I long ago moved away from the OEM because I get benefits in all areas, but with a fresh engine, in good shape a 0W30 is perfect. Tim was surprised I run a zero rated oil, but his response was interesting- but I'll leave you to hear it for yourself

I cant complain my VHPD has done 45K and a lot of trackdays. It does now use a bit of oil, hardly suprising. Im going to do a rebuild myself shortly when funds allow.

Talking of liners are the ductile ones the best practice at the moment. Apparently they resist ovalisation better ?

To be honest I was quite enjoying the other lads posts about what hole to put the oil and how many MLOCERS it takes to change a lightbulb!
