andywolf Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 On the way into work the ABS Warning light came on. Is this likely to be a fault with a sensor or the ABS system itself? Is this a common problem?
Neil_C Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Dunno, the fuse for the ABS is under the pax side front access panel. It is a 10A (red) either on the extreme front or back of the box with a 20A (yellow) fuse above it. A start at least?

lummo Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 ABS - what is that?? It's something softie S2 drivers have (on cars of a certain age)
john.k Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I have a similar age 111R to you and this happened to me back in feb, following it coming on the ABS didn't work again until I took it to lotus who reset it, worked ok since, I think, haven't needed to use it yet!

Right. I will check that out later as I am not in it at the moment- got blocked at home in so had to take the gfs clio 1.2!
andywolf Posted April 17, 2009 Author Posted April 17, 2009 I have got my Elise booked in for next week as I have contacted the dealer I bought my car from and the ABS Warning light also has affected the Speedo. Hopefully they will sort it
amoss Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 There is some connection between the ABS circuit and the speedo. When they switch the ABS off for the braking part of driver training at Hethel, the speedo doesn't work.
chris_h Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Wheel speed sensor. Check the connections at the wheel hub / back of brake disk. Unlike the K series cars its on all 4 wheels on the toyota

Unlike the K series cars its on all 4 wheels on the toyota Thats what the service guy said at the dealers. I would not know where to start in checking the sensors.
andywolf Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 Dropped it off again at the Dealer and they have given me a Impreza. The windscreen wipers stopped working on the way up, until I switched the Engine off and they worked again. 2nd time that has happened. Strange
