Snapper

Recommended Posts

I am after help trying to get a sensible quote for a 111r, run as a second car despite having a very good driving record. They don't like my central Birmingham Post Code or my occuption... Photographer.

I have tried Esteem, 1st Alternative, Couldn't get Confused.com web site to quote.

Anyone give me some names and numbers of other good insurance brookers... Please.

Jamie - may be a long way round but it might be worth trying to play the second cheapest off against the cheapest and see how far you get by doing this repeatedly - have heard of quite a few who will beat any price given and if you keep doing it long enough - that's about all that I can think of though.

Does your job have to be photographer? Couldn't it be media or cameraman or something?

It does seem to vary.... some people get great quotes from Elephant, Admiral, Esteem etc... whereas they are crap for me.

I got quoted:

Adrian Flux - £950

Eggar Lawson - £700

Tesco - £625

Direct Line - 560, but no track days. Been the best for me 3 years running now.

NU Direct before that was good for my first year.

These 2 probably only any good for non-modded cars. If you have mods, you'll need one of the specialists (see other posts above)

Agree about DL for modded cars - couldn't really take the chance of changing when I was in the middle of a claim, so they took the piss, and then sent their mothers around to take this piss about the mods as well. :horse:
