Group Lotus and CEO Mike Kimberley features strongly in new polls

America On Line (AOL) has approximately 50 million subscribers worldwide and, as such, is

one of the world’s largest internet service providers. It was, therefore, considered a huge

compliment to the management and staff of Group Lotus, when a poll in the highly rated AOL

motoring section recently placed Mike Kimberley, CEO of Group Lotus, as thirteenth in the Top

50 All-Time Most Influential People in the Automotive Industry. Heading the list was Porsche’s

Wendelin Wiedeking with VW’s Dr. Ferdinand Piech in second place.

“In the last twelve months, Lotus has been turned around,” said Kimberley in response to the

AOL poll. “The company has a clear strategic direction for the future and has returned to its

philosophical roots as a lean, focused and highly motivated cars and high technology

engineering business which, I’m sure is a key fact to Lotus featuring so highly in the AOL poll”.

A subsequent publication of the “Power 100” as a supplement in the Eastern Daily Press, the

East Anglian regional newspaper, assessed the impact of key businesses and individuals

throughout the region, again in a poll format. Mike and Lotus featured in seventh position in

the list competing with the region’s major businesses and industry.

“Our third party high technology engineering business is one of the most successful and

prolific in our industry and has an enviable global reputation”, commented Mike Kimberley.

“Our standing in these polls is clearly a reflection of this, as well as the passion and

enthusiasm that surrounds our wonderful brand. Lotus will be 60 years old in 2008 and we

expect to grow towards an even more exciting future and, through our management and staff’s

efforts, to further worldwide successes.”
