  1. So, after some 17 years since I did the original conversion, after, thousands of hard miles, track driving etc, the old gal is starting to show signs of mid-life crisis. A few things started to go wrong and fail, so it's apparent that it's time for a refresh. Interestingly, being under the car, with spanners all these years later, doesnt seem to feel the same way as before, so we shall see how things go. With the help of the amazing online community, and some of the old timers who are still knocking about, I am sure I will be fine. I will update the various cavities as I get time. The list: 1. New fuel pump - the secondary fuel pump failed. 2. New fuel hoses 3. New fuel filter 4. Oil filter and fresh oil 5. clean the air filter 6. New gearbox oil 7. New drive belt - the one I have is squealing like crazy due to slippage 8. Removal of the supercharger and inspection, and new oil 9. Charge cooler clean and inspection 10. Centre manifold bolt had rounded off - so this needs to be fixed with a thread repair - is is causing major air leak that scream like crazy at high rpms. 11. Inspect thermostat housing and replace if there are signs of wear 12. All earthing points inspection, clean and re-set. 13. Heat shielding repair as necessary 14. Coolant hoses replacement and repairs as necessary 15. Auto tensioner replacement (I think mine has gone weak) 16. Cobra alarm battery replacement (mine still has the original one from 1999!!) 17. Exhaust heat management/ wrap 18. Crankshaft pulley replacement (mine has separated at the rubber layer). I actually never knew that they could do this. I thought that they were one single unit! I live and learn. There may be more as work progress, but this is as major surgery as the original installation, may be harder to be fair. At the operating table!
  2. Hi all, I am after the Lotus Elise ( I think S3) gear shifter open gear shroud. Where could I get one? Any links?
  3. All these years on, its still on!. I will have to remove them soon, give them a good clean and refresh it. I suspect that they are close to flying off at any point now. But a few years, no issues. Even with some brisk driving.
  4. Oh nice. I have never been in, nor driven an Evora. Congrats. Let me get 'life' out of the way and come out to play - 2020 ☺️
  5. 😇
  6. Wow, there is life after the plastic cars it seems! The Vantage has great rumble to it (although not as fast at the Honda Elise you had 😛 ). The Stratos is born! I am sure you have a blog somewhere about it. Send me the link. Thats going to be a keeper I am sure with the Alpha engine in the bay. Congrats! 👍🏾
  7. Hey Phil! Good to hear from you. You went big power Subaru route I seem to remember. I hope all is well. With regards to the event this year, I am not going to make it. I am still sorting a few things out, but perhaps next year. It would be good to see you again.
  8. Hey all. Good to hear from you guys. All good. Being focused on family and health stuff for a while, so not really been doing 'car stuff'. But all good all things considering.
  9. Just realised, it's been 10 years, to the month, since the original conversion. Apart from normal bits that required replacing, it hasn't done too badly indeed.
  10. All, It has been some time since I last updated the blog. All these years on, the little Lotus is still going strong. She is now 20 years old and looks and drives as good as ever. The love for this iconic car remains. My days of mods and getting under the car every weekend are over I think. I now simply enjoy the ownership experience and driving! Oh, I also do a little bit of polishing - just a little. This car is simply pure magic and medicine to all gloominess. 😁
