Lotus Cars Ltd, the sportscar division of Group Lotus plc, is pleased to announce the appointment of Richburg Corporation Limited for the retail of Lotus cars in Hong Kong.

Mike Kimberley, CEO of Group Lotus plc comments "I would like to welcome Richburg Corporation to the Lotus family and brand. The Hong Kong market is strategically important to us and we are pleased to have teamed up with such an enthusiastic and professional organisation. Looking to the future, we are expanding our line-up to include new products such as a mid engine supersports car which will introduce the Lotus marque to a discerning and individualistic group of Lotus fans and driving enthusiasts."

Eric Wong, Chairman and CEO of Richburg Corporation commented: "We are very excited to be able to offer these superb Lotus sportscars to Hong Kong drivers and those who appreciate fine and innovative engineering in our market. Richburg's profile and strength has always been its unique ability to retail innovative and high profile car brands in Hong Kong. Our marketing plan is to re-launch Lotus into the fast lane, highlighting the brand's philosophies in building lightweight, agile and innovative performance cars and its British engineering and manufacturing heritage."

Eric Wong continues: "Our first allocation of nine cars are being hand built by Lotus as we speak and will be shipped to Hong Kong soon. The new Elise R and the new Exige S will be available from launch in October 2006 with pricing from HK$ 585,000 for the Elise R and HK$ 715,000 for the Exige S. The new Europa S and the new entry level Lotus Elise S will join the range in early 2007."

The new Lotus showroom will be at Shop A, 128 Gloucester Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong, and the new Lotus Service Centre will be at Unit 2, G/F, Chaiwan Industrial City, Phase 2, 70 Wing Tai Road, Chaiwan, Hong Kong.

  • What is the point of a Lotus these days?

I have recently changed my Daily from a dirty diesel to an electric.  It struck me that the 0-60 times were almost identical, possibly quicker, to the Exige so my thought was, if comfortable family cars with suitcase room are now performing so well, are our cars becoming obsolete? Has the acceleration potential of EV’s made traditional sports cars meaningless? In an era where electric motor torque is rewriting the rules of straight‑line acceleration, it’s easy to forget what “fast” use

LOTUS Action Camera Mod for rear view mirror

Hi, my name is Marco and I'm from Liverpool, I'm new to this forum and new to Lotus. Towards the end of last year I started to get that itch of wanting a sporty fun car again (I had owned a couple of Mk4 Supras between 2000 & 2009) I was looking for a car that was not too big as it needed to fit into my narrow garage so I could hook it up to a trickle charger as it was not going to be a daily driver. I decided that an Elise would be perfect, after searching for months for the

Toxic Green S-Cup - (Aka Grogu)

Hi all as with most of my cars I thought I’d start a bit of a build thread. However unlike most cars which I bought and built up to be highly modified the plans for the lotus are quite different and so this will be more thread of its life in my ownership. I have also created a Facebook page called “Toxic Green S-Cup - (Aka Grogu)” containing images of its progress pre and post purchase. Newbie question

As the title suggests , a newbie query. I have just bought an S2 Elise , 2007 with the Toyota 1ZZ power unit in ‘ touring spec’. That means electric windows, a radio and , err, not sure what else. Anyway, that is not the subject of the query. The car is blue with a cream interior. The latter I don’t plan to keep. In fact , already bought some equivalent second hand door cards in black and am looking hard at a pair of Corbeau LE seats . So, first part of my query centres on those Corbeau seats. A
