Meeting time: 9am; first group to leave at 9:15am.

    Morning Run:

The run starts on the western side of Ludlow, the route will briefly follow the A49 North before turning off to follow the river Teme valley and skirting the Southern edge of the South Shropshire Hills before crossing over the border into Wales. Into the Élan Valley and a slow picturesque drive around the banks of the Garreg duu reservoir will lead to one of Wales most Lotus friendly roads finally exiting at the popular tourist attraction of Devils Bridge (admire the tourists as they stand and point at your fantastic plastic car!) A short run up the A44 and the Blue Bell Inn,

Brief Early morning fuel stop: Cross Gates Cafe and filling station
Lunch stop: The Blue Bell Inn Llangurig Powys Mid Wales SY18 6SG
    Afternoon Run:

Heading North West towards the small Welsh town of Llanidloes, our second lake is the impressive Lake Clywedog, used back in the second world war as a practice venue for the dambuster raids in the Rhine valley and still used as a practice ground today by the RAF. Worth a few minutes stop in the car park just to take in the view, you will then understand why it was used for such a purpose. The following 13 miles of freshly laid tarmac form what in my opinion is probably the best road in Mid Wales, a joy to drive with views that can't be beaten. From Machynlleth the route heads North up the A478 to Bala and one of the Clarkson era's Top Gear favourites. Down the valley into Llangynog before a final run into Welshpool and the end venue.
