mambosasa Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 In the spirit of getting the best bang per bucks on the suspension mods, I know there has been various discussions on all the usual suspects on this subject, including GAZ, however does anyone have any thoughts on the AVO shocks offered by Motobuild? They seem good value at £440 (inc VAT) if the they are as good as described on the website. Comments? Quote from the website: 'AVO fully adjustable shock and spring kit, this is a kit that has been on the market for a little while now, and although we have sold a few mail order, we have never really fitted one and thoroughly tested it - until recently that is. The results are impressive to say the least, after playing with spring rates, we have come up with a package that is superb for road use and has more than enough adjustability for ultimate track day use, but the best thing of all is the price, an unbelievable £440 including VAT, that's right 4 shocks, 4 springs, adjustable damping rate, adjustable ride height platforms, this kit does more than others two or three times it's price! so it's *Highly recommended* Postage and packing £9.95 UK mainland only.'
Steve J Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Never heard of them, but doesn't mean that they're no good. Probably better than standard Koni's. For £400 it's worth a try. Any more technical info (spring rates etc)?

Matrs Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Had AVO's fitted to my S1 by Horizon just before I sold it, Mike said they were a pain to set up!

ipanter Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I have AVOs on mine, they were on it when i bought it, albeit setup very badly (the front was 20mm higher than the rear), took them to mike who worked his magic on them and now i think they are fab. If you want to have a look/go. just let me know.
