Note if you are Traveling from the South Towards Calton Lees the A6 between  Darley Dale and Rowsley may well be closed from 5am until 9am do check your routes

  Please ensure you are logged into the MLOC forum and then click this link:  Note there Are No Physical Tickets

you must have Brought a Ticket for the link to work

Please Print off and or save files as required

There are:-

• Map links for the run locations.
• GPX files.
• Your final instructions.
• A full runs group list - please note your group number and leader's name.
• A copy of the Safety Brief.

Important - If you are taking part in a Sunday morning run you MUST download and print the signing on form Fill in and sign in Passenger 3 Box .

You must bring your signed MSUK signing on form with you on Sunday morning.

No signing on form = No run!  You have been warned

This event is bound by the General Regulations of Motor Sport UK with permit granted

For those on the runs there will be no need to follow a map just follow the car in front at a safe distance.

Any questions, please post up in the forum and we will do our best to answer them.

Is there a trick to using the map links for navigation on iPhone? The link opens in the Google Maps apps, and allows me to view the route, but doesn’t seem to give me any options to begin navigation

Unless you’re leading a group you don’t  need to navigate the route. Your group leader will drive the route and you follow, it sounds a bit strange but it works, just concentrate on your leader. Apologies if you are leading a group, if that’s the case I’m sure Ray or someone will sort it for you 👍

I know the golden rule is the key. I’ve done the event before, but it’s nice to have a fallback just in case things go awry

I’d suggest you avoid Google Maps, try a different GPX viewer?

OK thanks mate. Already loaded the gpx file into Calimoto, but was hoping To have Google Maps working just because it’s more familiar. Guess one fallback plan should suffice! Appreciate you taking the time to answer my annoying questions 😁

Be Prepared for a possible change to the beginning of route will confirm if needed in the morning

I’m very glad I made the effort to install the gpx files in Calimoto. The actual run went perfectly, but the procession was a bit of a shambles with the golden rule apparently being thrown out of the window. I was able to jump in and lead 8 or more cars to Bamford. 
apart from that hitch, we had a grand day out 👍

You're right about the Procession Brendan, it didn't go to plan at all. Thanks for helping with the rescue - I know one or two others did similar.

I did remind everyone again at Thornbridge to FOLLOW THE GOLDEN RULE! didn't I??!?

Never mind 😂

Probably better sticking with original groups and being led by group leaders next year.

Honestly the procession was not really a well-formed idea. 170 cars together over such a distance, and with heavy traffic through popular tourist destinations was never going to work. I had my wife telling me I shouldn’t be stopping to let people catch up as there’s simply not enough space on the road. Guess the people who abandoned the rules felt the same way. 
glad we did it though as I’ve never seen Winnats Pass before. It’s so beautiful, we had to pass through again on the way home so we could see it in sunshine and with the roof off.

the problem lies that at least 4 group leaders have to leave early from ThornBridge to get to Bamford to set up, 2 are needed to see everyone safely out of Thornbrige, but as you say you got to see Winnets Pass , every single person was given the map and GPX File, and if more people like yourself had used it or even looked at the map given, the issue would have been minimised. I will give some thought how next year we can try to avoid any confusion, 

Maybe if your interested in coming next year you could become a volunteer?  now there is a thought for you   let me know

I’m not sure that’s really the larger part of the problem here. Trying to get that many cars through such busy traffic was always going to be tricky, and both the final instructions and indeed the response to my initial query means that people are actively discouraged from trying to navigate themselves. Then we get to the problem that the more popular navigation systems don’t want to play ball. 
it’s a tricky one, and it didn’t work out too badly in the end. 
I’m not really in a position to be able to volunteer to help but I will certainly let you know if my situation changes

Hi All,

I was offered a potential solution to the grand procession problem by the two Davids in a white Esprit, which I plan to discuss with the organising team for next year.  I think it could work, but needs some investigation.  

I realise this is also now a teaser, so you'll have to come next year to see if it work out 😄
