kieranexige Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 If it's peppered than I would say get it painted... If there are random chips then mixing touch up with a small bit of laquer and building layers untill the paint is raised. Put some 2500 grit on the end of a pencil rubber and bring down the the normal height. Then Polish up. Normally once detailed and de swirled then regular washing 2 buckets and decontamination (tardis / ironx) the car should only need topping up after 4/6 months. With a decent ceramic coating 2 years is what the manufacturers quote with a top up if they fail before.
Steve J Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 It's not that big a car to do by hand especially if it doesn't get used much and is stored inside. No point spending time and money if it's covered in chips. Get the paint sorted then keep it in good condition.
Eric Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 And once the paint is done, get some protection film on it. I had Steve Baker (Paintguard) fit a front end kit to both the Evora and the Elise before I picked them up from Westover. He uses a superb film that is as flat and shiny as the original paint (and it's miles better than Ventureshield). Worth every penny and Steve will travel to anywhere to get the job done.
