HABC Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Doing a service and need to fit a new fuel filter, read the service manual and it tells you to take out the fuse for the fuel pump and run the engine until it runs out of fuel. Fine with that. However, they give you the location of the fuse for pre-97 cars at the back of the engine compartment. There is a note saying the fuse has been moved to the front of the car after that (mine is a 99) by the wiper motor..........Which one of the 4 is it................................. Dave
Martin R Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Early cars it was a 10A later cars it was a 15A. Pull the 15A and turn the ignition on. If you cant hear the pump ticking you have the right one.
graeme_laslett Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 I have a 99 elise and I have a 20A fuse (even the manual says it's 20A). The fuse on mine is located in the engine bay, on the left hand side as you look at the car. If you look in the boot, on the far left of the boot divider you will see two large rubber gromets. My fuel pump fuse is behind the top gromet. But as Martin says, it could be in the front G
