KingK_series Posted May 18, 2012 Author Posted May 18, 2012 I presume the exhaust side needs more flow then ? Also the further you get away from the water pump the hotter it gets ? 1 yes 2 nope the other way around......................
Martin R Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Thats a bit of a suprise to be honest. I would have thought it would get hotter as it moves across the head towards the outlet ?
KingK_series Posted May 18, 2012 Author Posted May 18, 2012 Thats a bit of a suprise to be honest. I would have thought it would get hotter as it moves across the head towards the outlet ? nope it is common on ace engines to go down on outlet coolant pipe dia to slow coolant egress at the rear of the engine - even Caterham did that on their K installs - honda does it with OEM K20a installs, but it's not enough..............
Martin R Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 The smaller outlet slows the flow down then ? In an ideal world i presume you need an even temp across the head at the best temp for efficency ?

In an ideal world i presume you need an even temp across the head at the best temp for efficency ? Exactly which means even cylinder and piston temps which means ideal ign adv on all 4 cylinders = best torque, and most of all no hotspots to bend the head and cause what people call "HGF" - but you all know now has nothing to do with the gasket. hope Roger reads this....
