S2 Suspension

i know spoonz has posted about s2 suspension but is it actually better than the s1 konis?? I been ofeered a set with 7.5 k on but i won,t mention price cos spoonz will not be impressed.

Miles better. Especially if you're sitting on 7 year old Konis v nearly new Bilsteins.

 

IMO no S1 should still be on its original suspension - 4-8 years old and living a hard life. Can you honestly say you've ever heard anyone who's replaced their springs & dampers wanting to return to previous spec?

I seen 2 sets at the lotus show last weekend for £240 Brand new Bargain!

 

I'm in the process of swapping over onto S2 suspension and all i've heard is praise and what a load of shite the old red konis are. If you've been offered some cheap I would defo get them.

Baz, ask Stevey J with genuine S2 susp, he now says its starting to go off.

I saw some at the show for £60 a corner, i guess they were the ones you were on about. Don't forget you'll need the brackets to!!! Not to mention you don't know what condition they were in! they all look new after a good wipe down!!

 

Oh, and i just paid £400 for mine so i need to make myself feel better!

 

Pay full price for them they're that much better. If you get them cheaper, all the better!! Defo worth the money!

And the story is, DONT buy cheap susp from previous cars, even the Tivver boys say Nitrons ... but the cars are heavier.

My S2 stuff came from another S1 that had gone to nitrons so i got the whole package. I'm sure Steve butts can source the brackets for anybody that needs them.

 

If you do get offered some S2 kit at the right price and your not sure about them. Put them on Ebay. Easy get £350-£400!!!

I said I had got used to the suspension and it seemed soft now. It's not gone off, I just want a more track orintated car..........eventually

Well true... clean them up so they look shiny and stick them on eBay, you may get lucky!

Was on eliseparts the other day and noticed that they are now selling the same brackets as Steve Butts. You get the full set of 4 for either lowering the car 15mm all round, and the front brackets are the same as Steve's for fitting S2 stuff to a S1 which will give you the 110 at the front.

 

Think I'm still going to get mine from Steve though as he has the knowledge on the spring positions. Which is also very important.
