Doh thats a bit of a pisser!!

tis easy to do tho.

Cable will cost you £25 i think and it will take a couple of hours to fit.. Me and beefcake fitted his new one ourselves and it took us 2 - 3 hours, but it really is easy to do..best if theres 2 of you tho.

I've spoken to a mate and he seems to think i will need a new "inner" too as my handle has broken away from cable oo-er!

Where do i get them from and does anyone who's done it before want to give me a hand to sort it out?? <on knees grovelling - but keeping an eye out in case MattyB approaches from behind :()

www.eliseparts.com can either supply them or give you a contact number. The cable comes as a complete assembly of outer and inner. The newer design has no gap at all behind the T-handle seat, so there's no access point for water etc.

It's not difficult to do, just time consuming and a bit of wire coathanger and gaffer tape may come in handy to help get the cable fed through the bodywork.

Good luck.

Hi Scott,

Someone told me it's about £90 all in at Nick Whale! (was that you?) ;)

I had a problem on my boot catch but only cost me about 10p to fix with a bit of Loctite. :P

Oops!

Sorry Scott I forgot you have one of those old joy of the service department S1 things!

See this is one of those many benifits of the S2 if the cable is crap in the S1 don't fit it in the S2 !!

Same applies to that silly oversteer and as for that roof! :(

Who said those Lotus boys don't know what they are doing!

(Toyota engine may be taking things a bit too far though!) :(

PS I am retiring to my bunker whilst the retaliation flack comes in! B)

Aye its not too difficult if you have thin long arms :(

Tis more of a pain dismantling the car to get access than pulling the cable through, make sure you tie some wire to it to as to not lose the path.

Dave :(

I think for the sake of it, £90 from NW is easier.. i haven't got time to sort it myself and the only place i can find the aprt is indeed NW.. and its pretty expensive for just the cable... so might aswell get them to sort that aswell as the earth strap issue...
