halfpenny Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 So - the tyre saga continues. I called Horizon today to see if they can get me some new rear A048's. They told me that Lotus Cars Ltd have sole distribution rights to these tyres from Yokohama, and that the only place you can get them is from Lotus Cars Lts or their dealer network ???? I will get my car serviced at the factory next year as per the tip from ChrisH, but could do with some new tyres soonish, but don't fancy two trips to the factory. Any ideas ?
AndyD Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Any ideas ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Eliseparts keep 'em 525 quid a set in Exige sizes = plus shipping plus VAT plus somewhere to put them on and balance correct ( not Krap Fit ..) So try Ian at Nick Whales as the total cost may be similar and they know how to balance correct ( from experience )
halfpenny Posted November 29, 2004 Author Posted November 29, 2004 Dank u wel ! Ik zal Nick Whales morgen bellen or I'll give Nick Whales a bell tomorrow. How long you been in Rotterdam ?
Mark H Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Andy works over there but lives just down the road from me
AndyD Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Dank u wel ! Ik zal Nick Whales morgen bellen or I'll give Nick Whales a bell tomorrow. How long you been in Rotterdam ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Geen probleem ! Yeah long enough to know I will never speak Dutch, understand "drop" ( or eat it ) and to remember to watch out for bikes when turning left
simondann111s Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Speak to Jonny at Bookatrack/Buyatyre, he got mine for me.
halfpenny Posted November 29, 2004 Author Posted November 29, 2004 Dunno what you mean ! Dropjes are lekker !!!!! (Although the salt ones are like sucking a nappy....I'm told) My Mrs is Dutch and we go quite regularly - I even have some Gevulde koek in the cupboard !!! I quite miss Cloggyland...lived there for 7 years. We'll probably go back later next year. Tot ziens !
Scott_Mac Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 Alternatively speak to Ian at Nick Whale as he gets them for BaT Just pressure him a bit, he'll do you a deal. (sorry Ian )
simon_prickett Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 Alternatively speak to Ian at Nick Whale as he gets them for BaT <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Horizon got me a pair of Advan Neova LTS that are on the same distribution deal... they just bought them from Nick Whale and charged me what NW charged them... plus fitting. Simon.
halfpenny Posted November 30, 2004 Author Posted November 30, 2004 We'll I called Horizon again and they most definately cannot get 48's. I'll try the Nick Whale route though - cheers Scott. Steven
PeterField Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Going to try a set of these on my S1 to replace the 39's. Been looking around for a few weeks now and the best price seems to be just under £600 fitted. Think that was price from Ian at NW as far as I can remember. Reminds me I must get it booked in.
chorton_1 Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Demon Tweeks do A048's, but is the Elise variation unique? I dunno. Certainly the 'Tweeks catalogue shows an Exige S2, so its promising.
