halfpenny
As there are one or two more S2 Exige owners on here, I thought I'd see if we had experienced any of the same problems with the cars as I have. My problems have been; 1. Crap DAB reception (touring pack fitted) Fixed by the dealer fitting a new signal booster under the front clam 2. Leaking roof when car parked in the rain Missing seal on roof -replaced and fixed. 3. Squeaks/creaks/rattles for roof Mostly from the rear of the roof and where the screws are under the access panels inside the car just above and behind driver & passenger heads - held on by velcro Problem still not fixed although been back to the dealer twice No real technical problems, and still love the car to bits - but the roof rattle is starting to p155 me off now ! Had to buy the new Green Day album and play it loud to muffle the rattles !

You won't notice after a while. CRP & Exhaust make it go away

Trev Foster
Yep i've got the same problems. Noticed on the radio only on Sunday on the way back from the run that it keeps dipping out of reception, goes quiet for 5 secs then comes back on or just displays no programe. The roof squeeks and rattles like mad. Didn't notice at first, but now as you rightly said it has started to grind on my nerves. Mentioned it to Nick Whale who said that the colder weather effects the expansion rate of the joints in the vehicles body and it should not be so noticeable in summer??? But now, every time I hear the rattles, I just floor the accelerator and the sports exhaust does the rest. Gees, I love that sound!!!!!!

chris_h
Mine hasn't leaked at all, been very impressed as its parked on a driveway everyday. My roof creaks/squeaks as badly as it did when I bought the car in july (cold weather has made it no worse). My probelm with the squeaky roof is that Lotus is insistant that the car is a coupe not a removable hardtop. (although we all know it is) therefore they have to fix the noises. I find the radio reception is alright (not DAB as I have the perfomance pack) I have two other problems that other people haven't mentioned. 1: Brake warning / handbrake light comes on when conering hard 2: Strut that holds boot open dosn't work when the engine is cold, and makes a really bad creaking noise when you open the boot if the engine is hot. Lotus is replacing it at the service.

halfpenny
Thanks all - interesting stuff ! Chris - I'd forgotten about the boot strut - have the same problem, but find that if I move the cover up and down a few times, the cover finally stays open ! Common "features" are; 1. Radio reception 2. Squeaking roof 3. Handbrake light 4. Bonnet strut 5. Loud music & sports zorts !

I find that moving the cover up and down works but if any wind hits it it comes crashing down on your head. Presumeably becasue someone stuck a huge areofoil on it !!!!! Halfpenny do you have the same brake light problem then ?
