Bruges is very nice. "The Venice of the North" the Belgians call it.

But of course . . . Bruges is only a 2 hour (ish) drive from Amsterdam !!!

p.s. If your coming from the French seaports via Gent, watch out for the new average speed SPECS cameras on the ring road.

I'll be in Bruges at the end of next month. Will be the last place i'm visiting on my Europe trip.

I'm really looking forward to the specialist beers, no one is more passionate about beer than the Belgians!

Or as they refer to them in the film "Gay Beers" lol

Bruges is an amazing place... we stayed in an amazing B&B, the best hot chocolate in the world and just so much fantastic beer!

And Omar - Paris has more shit per square foot than anywhere else on the planet.... fecking awful place!

venice of the north? Really, venice was a fucking hole whenever i've been there and i have absolutely no compunction to return a third time. It stinks, is horrendously overpriced and the locals are amongst the rudest, shittest people of anywhere i have ever been. At least it's sinking into the lagoon and we can stop romanticising it soon.

I do hope bruges isn't like it.
