ant13375
Hi all, most of you have probably already done this upgrade but as i'm a newbie i just thought id share with you how i got on and for any other newbie's out there that might fancy doing this themselves. First of all i took Steve J's tip (cheers steve) and reversed my car onto a few bricks, this worked surprisingly well and gave me that couple of extra inches to manouvre Off with the rear diffuser Found what i'm looking for Off with the gear cables with the help of a screwdriver Removed the bell crank locking nut and removed the bolt Out with the old bushes, once again a screwdriver came in handy and to be honest the bell crank bushes crumbled on removal In with the new nylatron bushes Re-fit the bell crank bolt and locking nut and slide the gear cables back onto there pivots, along with some grease Fit the washers and 'R' clips onto the gear cables Back on with the rear diffuser Took it for a spin to make sure nothing was going to fall off and i must admit for completing this within an hour and to go along with my short shift gear lever, this is one of the best upgrades i have done so far, makes the gear change much more positive and solid, well worth it IMHO. Then i celebrated the occasion Although this might be child's play to some of you, i was chuffed to bits with this one so i'd thought i'd share it with you. JonS
Hi Ant, I've done the short shifter upgrade and have debated doing this part as well. Think I may go for it now. Where did you get the bushes from?
ant13375
Hi Jon E-BAY of all places, just type in nylatron and you'll find them, £17 Well worth it, especially if you've already done the short shifter
Steve J
Good job and nice pics. Nylatron bushes were probably Billy who's on here anyway. Could you have got bigger R-clips though?

ant13375
Could you have got bigger R-clips though? I was going to go for the 3 inch 'R' clips but decided to stick with the 1 1/2 inch
