Supercharged Honda Elise's

Ok, so I met Mark (kumatai69) at Donington earlier and he was there in his S2 S/C Honda Elise and he kindly offered me a passenger ride so I can eventually see what all this engine conversion stuff is all about.

"OH MY WORD" is the only way to describe it. I have never been in anything so potent in my entire life. 0-60 in something completely stupid like 3.6 and when the little change light comes on at 6000rpm, just ignore it and scream up to around 9000 (which is off the rev counter). The scarey thing is that it does the same in 1st, 2nd,3rd gear ... we never made it to 4th, thank god, but Mark assures me it does the same. Oh and it's 6 speed. He's also got other trick bits on it like alibelled discs and some decent pads so it stops as well as it accelerates.

The install is truly amazing. It looks like it was meant to fit. Immaculate and tons of space in there. They don't have to cut/chop/move anything. The gear linkage itself is a work of art. Brand new silicone pipes everywhere even a new expansion bottle to keep the bay looking new. The gearbox is nice and tight and easy to work too. In fact, if anything I'd say there was quite a bit more room in the engine bay than with a K series, although Mark did have a carbon ITG which added more space. With his semi slicks on I honestly thought we'd be like one of those funny cars at the drag races and wheelie off the line it was that rapid.

It's now been a couple of hours and I still have a grin on my face!

Many many many thanks Mark and with any luck see you on the 19th if the weather is good.

Alright, so on to www.moneysupermarket.com I go for a loan!

All engine conversions are expensive but when you look at the photo's of kumatai69's honda, I can the installation was totally worth it. So, honda conversion it is then?

Worth it? Worth it?!!?!? I've already started going through my belongings to sell on ebay.

So far I'm up to a Sony Ericson W800i as good as new with box for £100, a HP SAN Switch 2/8EL for £500, a few redundant PSU's for various HP ML servers, Linksys wireless printserver for £20, a 3com USB wireless printserver £20, a Plextor SATA DVD writes £20, Efficient Networks 9861 (I can't remember the model?) ADSL Router, a Snooper S6R-NEO Speed Camera system, a big air con/heather unit, old 19" server cabinets, office desks/chairs. 2 std elise cloth seats with harness holes without runners. You name it, I'll get it and sell it.

Snapper, I'm sure Mark will gladly tell you what's been done. Here's the best pic I could find, a video actually. It doesn't do it any justice.
