Ladders
Right. I'm not sure whether to go all out and get Nitrons, or buy S2 suspension and spend the rest on bits? eg Maxogen etc. Thing is I don't want to buy S2 suspension and then wish I'd got Nitrons Also dont want to get Nitrons and then wish I'd could have used the money to buy Susp and more bits! What would you do?
MattyB
If I was spending alot of time on track, and/or like to mess with suspension settings (for fun or for the track) then I'd go with Nitrons. For mainly daily use, and maybe the odd trackday, I'd go with S2 Although you could always consider S2 LSS?
Ladders
Matty, is the S2 LSS what everyone has been fitting on here?
simon_prickett
I'd go with Nitrons for track use. I do track days in mine regularly on S1 LSS and that's good too - but I also have the 3x stiffer ARB fitted. Simon.
Ladders
From what I've just been reading on other threads Nitrons might be overkill for me as I mostly use it on road with the occasional track day at the moment?
MattyB
No, not many people have fitted S2 LSS. IIRC the S2 LSS is whats on the 135R? For one, its seriously low. Dan (?) fitted his S1 160 and its lower than the S1 LSS at about 80mm front (S1 LSS is about 100mm front). I struggle with mine...at 80mm, I wouldn't be able to go anywhere! I'll see if I can find the picture/info...

Ladders
That 160 looks good but cant imagine he can drive over anything now though
Steve J
Oh come on Ladders. Bite the bullet and go for the nitrons otherwise you'll only want them in 2 years time and have wasted your money on the S2 suspension. If you're going to go for an upgrade, save up then go for the best. Little step changes always work out more expensive in the long run. PS I got my S2 suspension free with my car
Foley
I've got S2 susp on my S1 but I wish I'd gone for Nitrons. These bloody trackdays are so addictive and I've found I always want a little bit more grip each time I go out to play. I may have a set of carefully used S2 dampers and springs up for sale soon:)
malbon
Nitrons if your into track days otherwise go for S2 LSS and some bits i say.
MattyB
Theres no point paying for something your never going to use though. Nitrons are stupendously adjustable - but whats the point if your just going to set them up then leave them that way? And I'd be very suprised if many people could find and exploit the limits of well set-up S2-equipped-S1, let alone the with Nitrons I don't think anyone would regret Nitrons, but for what Ladders wants it for, its twice the cost for very little gain. Steve J
Don't blame me when you go the way of Foley and wish you'd got nitrons in a years time
Ladders
Yeah, exactly what I was thinking to be honest Steve. Thinking Nitrons at the mo then
