EdLeake
Obviously they are a keen dry 'racey' tyre but what are the Yoko's like to live with through wet, cold and harsh winters months? I'm considering a winter tyre set when purchasing a new Exige S, however I'd rather not waste the money if the Yoko's are 'fine' for normal/steady driving during wet spells etc.
Mark H
If you are careful they are ok. I've managed for years now and I do a lot of miles.
EdLeake
The salesmen made it out to be a death trap and even went as far to say we couldn't go for a test drive if it were to rain! Maybe he was just pushing for the sale on the winter rubber.
Snapper
They still grip very well in the wet, the problem come when you hit standing water, the tyre is rubbish at trying to cut through it. I wouldn't take the car out in ice or snow because the car isn't heavy enought to deal with that.
EdLeake
Hmmm I might just buy a winter 'beater' for rain and ice, don't really want to get the Exige wet anyway!
Mark H
Yeh they are VERY rubbish in the snow and standing water can be fun but as long as you know and drive for that then they are "ok".
chris_h
I've driven my in pretty bad conditions, as long as your careful and drive approprietly they're fine. I agree that taking an exige out in the rain for a test drive probably isn't the best idea. The pictures below always make me smile. Bet they had fun getting the car to the right position !! EdLeake
How does the traction control system respond in the wet? I would have prefered an LSD but you have to have the TCS aswell, seems silly to me.
Mark H
My right foot "traction control" system seems to respond well
chris_h
mines an 04 car so don't have traction control apart from my brain and foot. In the dry it is nearly impossible to spin the tyres, In the wet very easy if your messing around and a lot of fun !!
