Lotus Praga Lmp2 Preview To The 6 Hours Of Spa

Lotus Praga LMP2 is heading for Belgium for the second race of the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship.

The venue for the 6 Hours of Spa is the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps located in the Belgian Ardennes. The track is 7,004 km in length and one of the longest and most demanding on the calendar. Almost every race driver counts the circuit among his favourite because of its challenging layout and the famous “Eau Rouge” curve.

Lotus is confident that the team will show a good performance in Belgium. The event at Spa will serve as a rehearsal for the biggest race on the calendar, the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Spa will be James Rossiter’s first race with the new Lotus Praga T128 LMP2. The Briton will drive alongside Kevin Weeda and Vitantonio Liuzzi in #31. The driver line up for #32 remains unchanged with Thomas Holzer, Dominik Kraihamer and Jan Charouz behind the wheel.

The event at Spa will kick off with two practice sessions and qualifying on Friday, 03rd May. Race start is on Saturday, 04th May at 14:30 hours local time.

James Rossiter, Race Driver #31:

“I am really excited to be back in FIA WEC this weekend with Lotus and to race the new Lotus Praga T128 LMP2 for the first time. We have a lot of work still to do on our new car but the potential is there. I am really looking forward to the challenge in LMP2 class this year and can't wait to get on track.”

Jan Charouz, Race Driver #32:

“I am looking forward to the 6 Hours of Spa. The circuit is one of my favourite tracks, so I can’t wait to race there with the new Lotus Praga T128 LMP2. I hope the experience we gained with the car in Silverstone will move us forward, so that we can have strong results in the future.”

  • Fibreglass Repair

I have a fibreglass repair to make so thought I would share the progress here.  You'll see from the pictures that there is a large hole that needs to be made good, so I have a new repair section to bond in.  I'm fairly sure where I'll make the join but I have a couple of choices.  I'll make the final decision after a bit more thinking. Very happy to receive advice. A hole: Remove the aluminium under tray.  Unplug this connector so the cable can be passed through the wheel arch

Adventures of an S1 Elise in Germany

Some of you will know, but for the rest, I'll be working in Germany near Mannheim until end of 2026 with 75% of my time there, and 25% back home. As i fancy doing some different roads, and I've booked two weekend driving tours with Delightful Driving company (run by Elisa Artioli), on Thursday 10th July I'll be setting of in my S1 Elise, and 4 days later I plan to arrive at my apartment. I plan to post about my driving adventures over there, so keep an eye on this blog should you be in

    Exige V6 - Rear tyres

Rear tyres will need changing fairly soon.................... My Exige is currently fitted with 265/35R18 rears.  The Sport 380/410/430 are fitted with 285/30R18.  Would there be any benefit in going with a bigger profile rear tyre?  I'm just looking at some options.  Cup2's are proving difficult to find.
