Takuma Sato will aim to maintain his strong oval form this weekend as the IndyCar Series heads to Kentucky for the Meijer Indy 300.
In his rookie season at the wheel of the #5 Lotus-KV Racing Technology entry, the former F1 racer has impressed with his speed on the high-speed oval circuits, having run as high as third at Iowa and fifth in Kansas.
Taku also came through the field in the famous Indianapolis 500 to run as high as sixth, having started the race from 31st on the grid.
Last weekend, Taku looked well placed for a maiden oval top-ten finish in Chicago before an incident on pit-lane with team-mate EJ Viso saw him forced to retire, but he heads to Kentucky confident of running strongly.
"It was such a refreshing change and a great excitement to be back on an oval last week and we were competitive there," he said. "I heard that Kentucky will be a little bumpier, but a similar venue as we had in Chicago last week.
"I hope we can repeat our performance and show the speed we had and have a good race."
