Brazilian Gp - Race - Lotus Renault Gp Report

Bruno Senna, P17, R31-05

Vitaly Petrov, P10, R31-06

Lotus Renault GP concluded the 2011 Formula 1 season with a single point as Vitaly Petrov took his R31 past the finish line in 10th position.

The teams encountered typically muggy weather during the 71-lap race, but the threat of rain did not materialise and the 71-lap race was played out in good conditions.

Vitaly made a strong start jumping three places to 12th. Despite some issues with KERS, the Russian was able to weave his way up to 10th come the latter stages of the race.

Bruno, meanwhile, suffered a disappointing race. After maintaining his ninth position in the opening stages of the race, an incident with Michael Schumacher followed when Bruno was attempting to defend his place. The resulting drive through penalty meant Bruno had it all to do, and he ended up finishing the race in 17th position.

Australian Mark Webber took victory ahead of team mate and world champion Sebastian Vettel. Jenson Button came home in third.
