Brazilian Gp - Qualifying - Lotus Renault Gp Report

Vitaly Petrov, R31-06

Q1: P8, 1.13.859, 10 laps

Q2: P15, 1.14.053, 6 laps

Bruno Senna, R31-05

Q1: P15, 1.14.453, 12 laps

Q2: P9, 1.13.300, 5 laps

Q3: P9, 1:13.761, 3 laps

Bruno Senna has qualified in the top ten for Lotus Renault GP for his home Grand Prix after his 1min 13.761secs lap ended the Q3 session as the ninth fastest under skies that threatened rain at a highly charged Interlagos circuit.

Bruno negotiated his way through a difficult three qualifying sessions with the team making strategic calls based on the threat of rain, which never actually came.

Vitaly meanwhile was caught out with a lack of pace in Q2 which meant he qualified outside the top ten in 15th position with a 1min 14.053secs lap.

Pole position went to Red Bull Racing’s Sebastian Vettel with a time of 1m 11.918secs, with team-mate Mark Webber lining up alongside him for tomorrow’s race. Jenson Button was third fastest for McLaren.

  • S1 Type 49 Elise Refresh

And so the winter refresh of my S1 Elise started today. Hoping to take front clam of tomorrow. However of the 4 lower bolts that hold the lower rear to the chassis, 2 are spinning and 2 won't budge despite copious amounts of penetrative oil over the last few months. The Eagle eyed will spot my Dremel tool which I'm not looking forward to using to remove 4 bolt heads that have limited access. Currently on my list are replacing the driving lights brackets, shot blast and paint the tow post, n

    Newbie

Firstly, I just thought I’d make a post to say thanks for letting me join, seems like a friendly forum. I don’t own an Elise currently, but ever since I had some passenger laps around donington park as a teenager a good 15 years ago I’ve always wanted one. Currently have an mr2 and want to stick with a Toyota engine, so I gather I’m looking at an S or 111r model? Hope to see some people at some meets soon.

S2 elise front roof seal replacement

Hello All I've bought a new front roof seal from elise parts for my S2. It's their aftermarket one with improved drainage. Has any body fitted one of these? If so do you have any advice , tips or tricks. Cheers

    Brake Bleeding

Thought i'd share my recent experience. So I bled my brakes the other month prior to this years (2024) first track day. Standard 2 person method. But the pedal just felt a little spongy afterwards despite the amount I bled it. So much so I struggled to heal and toe on the track afterwards, as the pedal travel was too far down to get my heel up on the accelerator. I recently bought the LASER brake bleed kit (picture below) and used it to re-bleed the brakes. The difference was night and day,
