Lotus Evora Wins Bbc Top Gear Magazine Sports Car Of The Year 2009 Awa

The Lotus Evora was selected

by Top Gear magazine and online teams as

the best Sports Car of the last 12 months.

The Top Gear Awards,

now in their 10th year, searched for the

most exciting and innovative sports car of

but are also truly global, running across

24 international editions and Top Gear websites

in the UK, US and Australia.Conor McNicholas, Editor

importantly delivers a sports car rush that

puts other marques to shame."

Dany Bahar, CEO of Group Lotus plc said,

the Top Gear award for Sports Car of the

Year 2009. Top Gear is very well regarded

around the world and it is a fantastic achievement

for all who have worked on the Evora to win

such a prestigious award."Dany continued, "I

am particularly pleased that the Top Gear

team commented on the huge improvements in

quality at Lotus, confirming that the Evora

is an exciting supercar that can also be

Servicing.....self or garage? Which are you?

So, I did a Forum 'service' and 'servicing' search, but couldn't find much about the topic specifically. So thought Id kick one off instead. Servicing. Self or Garage? Lotus are renowned for the servicing required. Lots of specialists out there, and it does come at a premium. But... Changing things like oil, filters, brake/clutch fluids etc, are pretty much the same on a Lotus as on most other combustion engines. The Lotus Service Guides have the full list of things to cover too,

    Handbrake covers....whats yours look like?

Ok, so my 2006 S2 has no handbrake cover. Looks like that's how most come out of the factory. Gear shift has the standard perforated leather. Im looking at the option of getting a HB cover, preferably to match the gear leaver cover, looking to keep it as OEM as possible.  What have other owners done with their handbrakes? Aftermarket to match? Or a set to swap out for a new look? Nearly all I have seen go over the top and outside. Any neat ones that tuck inside the HB slot? Show u

    Brake Bleeding

Thought i'd share my recent experience. So I bled my brakes the other month prior to this years (2024) first track day. Standard 2 person method. But the pedal just felt a little spongy afterwards despite the amount I bled it. So much so I struggled to heal and toe on the track afterwards, as the pedal travel was too far down to get my heel up on the accelerator. I recently bought the LASER brake bleed kit (picture below) and used it to re-bleed the brakes. The difference was night and day,
