Lotus engineering appoints dan burge as commercial director to further grow the business

  • Dan has previously held senior roles with Williams Advanced Engineering and Prodrive Automotive Technologies
  • Lotus Engineering is an internationally recognised consultancy delivering design, engineering and manufacturing expertise predominantly in the automotive sector

(Hethel, UK – 1 October 2019) – Lotus Engineering has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Dan Burge as Commercial Director. Dan is an experienced executive within the automotive industry, having fulfilled commercial, operational and technical roles in both development and manufacturing.

He has held senior commercial and programme roles at Williams Advanced Engineering and Prodrive Automotive Technologies, as well as serving as Operations Director for a small group of engineering companies. In recent years Dan has completed an MBA, and prior to joining Lotus Engineering was running his own consultancy supporting strategic growth in technology focused SMEs.

Lotus Engineering is an internationally recognised consultancy which has provided comprehensive and versatile services to many of the world's OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers for almost 40 years. Committed to driving forward technology with precision and passion, Lotus Engineering is spearheading pioneering research into areas such as advanced powertrain design and validation, lightweight advanced material research, and ride and handling optimisation.

While the automotive industry is the heartland of Lotus Engineering, as a consultancy its innovative approach and problem-solving expertise has been used by clients from many other sectors. These have included elite sporting performance, aerospace, medical research, boat-building, furniture, a watch and even a shopping trolley!

Dan commented: “I’m delighted to be joining Lotus Engineering at such an exciting time for the whole Group Lotus business. Dan will be co-located, spending time at Hethel – the historical home of Lotus in Norfolk – and the recently opened Lotus office in Warwick, West Midlands.

Married with two children, Dan is passionate about his family, rugby and all things automotive and motorsport.

    What is the point of a Lotus these days?

    LOTUS Action Camera Mod for rear view mirror

    Newbie question

    As the title suggests , a newbie query. I have just bought an S2 Elise , 2007 with the Toyota 1ZZ power unit in ‘ touring spec’. That means electric windows, a radio and , err, not sure what else. Anyway, that is not the subject of the query. The car is blue with a cream interior. The latter I don’t plan to keep. In fact , already bought some equivalent second hand door cards in black and am looking hard at a pair of Corbeau LE seats . So, first part of my query centres on those Corbeau seats. A
