Lotus Appoints Conor Horne as Commercial Director of Uk and Ireland

London, UK – 2 August 2023  Lotus has announced Conor Horne has joined the business as Commercial Director of UK and Ireland.

In his new role, Conor will work closely with Lotus’ leadership team to further develop the company’s business development strategy, as well as identifying new opportunities for growth in the UK and Ireland.

By 2028, Lotus has ambitions to sell 150,000 vehicles annually, as part of its vision to become a global luxury performance brand. The UK and Ireland are both key European markets for the business and Conor will play an integral role in growing the brand and reaching new customers in these regions.

Prior to joining Lotus, Conor was at Volvo, where he was responsible for launching and growing the organisation’s direct-to-consumer sales offering, as well managing Volvo’s recent move to agency sales in the UK. Conor brings a wealth of automotive experience with a focus on leading and operating traditional wholesale business models, in addition to direct-to-consumer sales.

The company recently opened Lotus London, its first European global brand centre in Mayfair, London. This is part of Lotus’ global customer experience strategy, focused on building a direct relationship and creating unique, personalised experiences for consumers. The business plans on growing its retail distribution network to 105 stores in Europe by 2025. Conor will lead the rollout of further stores in the UK and Ireland.

Mike Johnstone, Chief Commercial Officer at Lotus Group, said: “As Lotus continues to scale globally, Conor brings strong experience in business development, which will help us scale the brand and grow our customer base in the UK and Ireland.”

Commenting on his new role, Conor said: “Lotus has a world-class team, industry-leading technologies and a strong heritage, which combined has enormous potential. I look forward to building our presence and unlocking new growth opportunities in the UK and Ireland, as the company delivers its vision to become a global luxury performance brand.”

Lotus announced its Vision80 strategy in 2018 with plans to transform the brand into an all-electric intelligent, luxury mobility provider by 2028 – when the business celebrates its 80th anniversary. Lotus began delivering on its promise with the debut of the Eletre last year. It has started production for the vehicle and expects to deliver to customers in the UK and Europe later this summer.

  • What is the point of a Lotus these days?

I have recently changed my Daily from a dirty diesel to an electric.  It struck me that the 0-60 times were almost identical, possibly quicker, to the Exige so my thought was, if comfortable family cars with suitcase room are now performing so well, are our cars becoming obsolete? Has the acceleration potential of EV’s made traditional sports cars meaningless? In an era where electric motor torque is rewriting the rules of straight‑line acceleration, it’s easy to forget what “fast” use

LOTUS Action Camera Mod for rear view mirror

Hi, my name is Marco and I'm from Liverpool, I'm new to this forum and new to Lotus. Towards the end of last year I started to get that itch of wanting a sporty fun car again (I had owned a couple of Mk4 Supras between 2000 & 2009) I was looking for a car that was not too big as it needed to fit into my narrow garage so I could hook it up to a trickle charger as it was not going to be a daily driver. I decided that an Elise would be perfect, after searching for months for the

Toxic Green S-Cup - (Aka Grogu)

Hi all as with most of my cars I thought I’d start a bit of a build thread. However unlike most cars which I bought and built up to be highly modified the plans for the lotus are quite different and so this will be more thread of its life in my ownership. I have also created a Facebook page called “Toxic Green S-Cup - (Aka Grogu)” containing images of its progress pre and post purchase. Newbie question

As the title suggests , a newbie query. I have just bought an S2 Elise , 2007 with the Toyota 1ZZ power unit in ‘ touring spec’. That means electric windows, a radio and , err, not sure what else. Anyway, that is not the subject of the query. The car is blue with a cream interior. The latter I don’t plan to keep. In fact , already bought some equivalent second hand door cards in black and am looking hard at a pair of Corbeau LE seats . So, first part of my query centres on those Corbeau seats. A
