Code of Conduct for MLOC
1. Respect and Courtesy All members are expected to conduct themselves with the highest levels of respect and courtesy during any club-related activity, whether online or offline. This expectation extends to interactions with both fellow members and non-members. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where all participants can enjoy their shared passion for cars without discrimination or discomfort.
2. Professional and Ethical Conduct Members must avoid any actions or behaviors that could potentially harm the reputation of the club or its operations. This includes, but is not limited to, refraining from illegal activities, upholding the club's integrity, and avoiding any engagements that might reflect negatively on the club or its community.
3. Anti-Discrimination and Harassment Policy We are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful community. As such, discrimination, harassment, or any other behavior that undermines the dignity or self-esteem of an individual will not be tolerated. This applies to but is not limited to discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, or any other legally protected characteristic.
4. Enforcement of Code of Conduct Violations of these guidelines may result in actions taken by the administration team, including but not limited to warnings, suspension of membership privileges, or expulsion from the club, depending on the severity of the misconduct.
5. Reporting and Grievance Procedures Members are encouraged to report any incidents where they feel these principles have been breached. Reports can be made confidentially to the designated officers, and every complaint will be investigated thoroughly and impartially. We are committed to ensuring fairness and respect for all parties involved.

Abstract: Carbon-neutral liquid fuels offer the possibility of decarbonising transport without the paradigm shifts required by electrification of the vehicle fleet or conversion to a hydrogen economy. The paper describes the SOFT concept (Sustainable Organic Fuels for Transport) in which carbon-neutral liquid fuels provide a route to avoiding the climate change and energy security concerns which currently challenge the transport sector. The lowcarbon- number alcohols, and, where necessary, synthetic diesel and kerosene, offer the prospect of continued high levels of affordable mobility through the gradual evolution of the vehicle fleet and fuel distribution i…

ABSTRACT Increasingly stringent tailpipe CO2 legislation and customer desire to reduce vehicle fuel consumption are driving new technology developments, particularly in gasoline engines. Many of these are not entirely complimentary to each other and all carry various levels of on-cost to the vehicle, both in financial and systems complexity terms. This paper will describe a downsized engine whose key technology packages include a second-generation direct injection combustion system combined with turbocharging and an integrated exhaust manifold (IEM). This engine has already been successfully applied to a B/C class vehicle. The interaction of the engine technologie…

ABSTRACT Turboexpansion is a concept which is aimed at reducing the fuel consumption of pressure-charged gasoline engines by providing overcooled air to the engine in order to extended the knock limit (relative to a conventional charge-cooled system). An extension to the knock limit allows several possible shifts in the compromise adopted in pressurecharged gasoline engines, including increased specific output, an increase in trapped compression ratio or a reduction in the octane appetite of the engine. All are considered important in the drive to reduce the CO2 output of passenger cars fitted with gasoline engines against the backdrop of the ACEA commitment of …

ABSTRACT Proposed long-term options for de-carbonizing transport are assessed. Various shortcomings of electrification or molecular hydrogen as an energy carrier are discussed which may prevent their widespread adoption. The development of a Tri-Fuel vehicle, capable of operating on any combination of gasoline, ethanol, and methanol, using a single fuel system is described, demonstrating that compatible, affordable transport can be developed, supplied by sustainable organic fuels. Low-carbon-number alcohols and, where necessary, synthetic hydrocarbons, can be supplied from the biosphere up to the biomass limit from biofuels, and beyond the biomass limit from the a…

Abstract The paper discusses some unconventional approaches to reducing the parts count and complexity and simplifying the assembly process in reciprocating engines. This is expected to become increasingly important against the present backdrop of increasing technology content of passenger car engines (both gasoline and diesel) as the industry strives to meet ACEA commitments on CO2 reduction in the near- to mid-term. Some of these approaches permit the adoption of lighter materials such as magnesium and aluminium in areas of the engine where they are not commonly employed, such as the crankcase and the exhaust manifold, due to these areas being a normally unfavou…

In the current climate for carmakers, it is something of a surprise to hear a chief executive pledge expansion. But that is the plan for Lotus, the historic Norfolk-based marque, according to Dany Bahar, who late last year took over the helm of the maker of sports cars. Indeed the company, which employs about 1,100 people at its headquarters in Hethel, near Norwich – making it one of the area’s biggest employers – took on 185 staff in preparation for the launch last year of the Evora, its first new model in 14 years. “Compared with everyone else who was laying off staff, we were probably the only automotive company to recruit people,” says Simon Wood…

Will probably be asking for some testers soon to help make sure everything is working correctly, few more things need sorting out first though Phase two will add additional features at a later date but just want to get this version out first as its taken forever! (Yes the image at the top right does change every so often)
