I only use Optimax in my car - and have done since buying it.... Shell sent me details of a promotion recently where if i buy a certain amount of fuel i get bonus PlusPoints - not many, but hey.... (I am also totally confused by the new Optimax bonus points scheme, but hey again! ) Anyway, they kindly informed that over the past 5 months my average fuel usage has been 209 litres per month - on a car that does 45mpg.

After realising that every other car feels like crap after being in an Elise (especially my dads Rover 600, which feels like a bus), I wondered where people were going next, and whats on the shopping list? For myself, if I can financially afford a semi-decent second car, then the Elise is being traded for an Exige. But if I can only have one car...I think I'm going for an RS4. Always liked the idea of a stupidly overpowered estate. Alternatively, it would have to be a Porsche 993. In GT2 flavour, if you please. Although I'd find it hard to let go of my wee black beastie...

Just checked the tyre pressure for the first time, not good! Fronts were 1.4, rears 1.5 Handbbook reads Front 1.6 (23) Rear 1.7 (24.5) How often does one need to check and pump up the tyres? I ust to drive a work car, some kinda sporty T top vauxhall, and its tyres were forever dead flat as everyone thrashed the pants off it. Is this a weekly thing? BIG IMPORTANT QUESTION PART In my handbook the last owner has written in 27 in biro next too the rears pressure, as opposed to the official 24.5. Front and rears are Pzeros. Its a 111s, which I believe has wider tyres at the rear than normal? Do I do believe the biro or the handbook? Might these be wider Pze…

Only prob is the online lotus shop keyring button don't work, is there anywhere else I can get one please? Or does the shop have a phone number? Perhaps someone has two and would sell me one? thx James

I'm not a member of club lotus and don't know a huge deal about it except that everyone seems to say that the magazine's not great - and that's about all I know actually. Had a look at the website which doesn't really tell me much except about a couple of events which it seems I could go to anyway if I had a burning desire to do so, and that the same bloke's been president since the dawn of time. Am I missing out on some top secret thing here or is not worth worth the effort/cash? Kristian p.s. apologies in advance if it's a shooting offence to even ask such a question...

Just been for an awesome spin along the Norfolk Coast, out to Holt and back via sheringham. My wife's first trip, which went okay, except she kept closing her eyes when I overtook, not because it was a small gap, but because of the acceleration. However it wasn't that comfy for her, as her feet are a good 10/12 inches short of the passenger footrest? Can one get an adjustable one? How do short people ride pax? thx james

..Understeer cured! Had the Toyo's fitted today and first impressions are very favourable, understeer seems to have almost disappeared, very slightly less feel at the limits but that could be resolved with pressure fiddling i reckon. I assume that could be down to having matching tyres front and back and I also have a feeling that the Pirelli's had started to harden and were past their best. Definitely glad i did it now, well worth the cash, if Advans are better again, i can't wait! Scott

I'm going to write a sternly worded letter to the Walsall Council about the state of the roads, and ask that they pay for the cost of my Geo check, or at least contribute. I'm also going to moan about height of the speedbumps, taking photo's of my cracked number plate and also the scratch I have on the underside of my clam (all of which were caused by stupidly high speedbumps) What do you reckon my chances are? The roads in Walsall are beyond rediculous, with pot holes that could bend wheels, and could rip my clam off if I hit them wrong. Is it worth doing? Cheers, Matt

Had a great run to the coast with my Dad as passenger on saturday, all apart from 1 over ambitious corner. My confidence has been growing over this week, and I thought I'd try a really fast corner. I knew the road well, although in retrospect its probally the worst corner to try it on. Its a right turn going uphill a little about 98degrees, so quite sharp. I decided well in advance and settled my speed around 40mph, it did seem quite fast as we got closer to the corner. I had braking thoughts just as I was about to turn the wheel and may have braked just a little. My Dad next to me managed not to scream out but tensed and I felt his grimace (this confirmed my concern)…

Seems to be a lot more people using this board lately! Is this down to people seeing the MLOC stickers? or are people coming from SELOC and the BC-BBS? Personally I'm getting fed up of the BC-BBS, well the General bit anyway! The technical part is still usefull. Just seems to much bitching on there now

Whilst at work (althogh not my place of work) today I bumped into Liz, a fellow MLOC'er, who spotted my car on the carpark - and correct me if I'm wrong here - owns a Red (?) Elan with her other half Carl... Had a nice chat about all things Lotus, nice to chat to you Liz, and yes I do intend to go to some events sometime soon! Shame I didn't see the Elan - next time I visit hopefully it'll be there and I'll have to have a look! Cheers, Matt
