Ben Ellerington
The lotus merch did tempt me, new key ring and a jumper to go with the Elise.
Dr H
There's only one Unit 4 in my world.... ;-) But I wish them luck... Gavs pricing and knowledge will take some beating. He's even started to make his favourite customers drinks and sandwiches... ;-) #allegedly Come on Scatty - you'll be claiming he's also got the heating working next! #fakenews
PJS-Lotus
Good Evening, I've been made aware of this forum and thought I should introduce myself. I'm Paul from PJS Sports Cars, firstly thank you for everyone's kind words wishing us luck. I've been a Lotus enthusiast all my life and have over the years owned many models from a Type 14 Elite to a 340R and have used them for everything from daily drivers to sprint / hillclimb and circuit racing. Just in case you've never heard of us, we've been trading now for 10 years, initially specialising in buying, selling, servicing and restoring classic Lotus cars (trading as PJS Classic & Race Cars), but over the years have become more and more involved in working on modern Lotus cars. Having run out of workshop space we decided to start looking for new premises 12 months ago and then came up with the idea of speaking to Lotus about becoming an authorised service centre. 12 months later and with lots of investment, training and hard work we've finally opened our new premises and can offer servicing, repair, restoration, race preparation, geometry / corner weight set up etc. for all Lotus cars from 1950's to date. Our new website 'www.pjslotus.co.uk' is live but not quite complete, but will hopefully give you a better idea of the services we offer. We are always happy to receive visitors, show them around our workshop and current projects and talk about all things 'Lotus' over a coffee. Phil S1
Well, after being suitably impressed following my recent visit to see Paul’s new premises I said I would have no hesitation in returning when my car was due a service. My car was obviously even more impressed than me because shortly afterwards it decided to illuminate the engine MIL light for me….permanently! So just a few days later we were back at Paul’s where he immediately plugged in his diagnostic equipment, which produced a P0346 error code, pointing towards the camshaft position sensor. We left the car with Paul to run more detailed checks, which ultimately lead him to believe it was indeed the sensor itself that was at fault. He didn’t have one in stock but fortunately Lotus did and it would be covered under warranty. It took a few working days before Lotus were able to deliver the part so Paul had Rob perform a full vehicle health check in the meantime and after I’d mentioned how I felt the alignment was not perhaps as it should be he also checked that for me too. It turned out both the front and rear toe were not at their optimum so he corrected that and even fine-tuned the camber for me too We picked the car up again yesterday, all gleaming and ready to go, no more MIL light and a car that feels so much more stable and less like it wanted to throw me into the scenery! The best bit of all though was when Paul checked my car’s history with Lotus and he informed me that it had originally been purchased with a 3 year free servicing deal, an offer that Lotus ran in the last 6 months of 2014 apparently. When I bought the car the dealer never mentioned the free servicing deal so I can only assume they must have been unaware themselves. I have since contacted Lotus customer service and they will honour one more service, on condition I have it done before my car’s 3rd birthday, so I’m well pleased with that So thanks again to Paul, Rob and the rest of the team at PJS Sports Cars and I’ll see you again at service time

cjwjames
Come on Scatty - you'll be claiming he's also got the heating working next! #fakenews Sorry I have to agree with Scatty ( can't believe sir Dr H talking about heating I've always had a warm welcome)! I also as others wish the new business all the best but as previously stated by others including DR H there is only one unit 4 And let's remember GAV is a sole trader who has supported many many MLOC members over the years his knowledge of the lotus mark is second to none without having to be appointed as authorised Lotus We are all individual and entitled to an opinion so apologies if this offends as I am sure PJS are as good as there reputation .. but why UNIT 4 ? Enough said # wheninshitwithlotuscallGav Go Scatty .. Go !!!
