Hello all,
So I've just bought my first S1 Elise and absolutely love it. Generally the car is in great condition, but for some reason the alarm doesn't sound when triggered. The lights flash and all of the sensors seem to be working, but it's as if the sounder has been disabled.
Is there a relay for the alarm sounder which might have failed? Does it normally trigger the car horn or should there be a separate siren? Could the alarm have been silenced somehow...?
The alarm is the Cobra security alarm. It seems to arm and disarm ok using the key fob and the immobiliser seems to be working too...
Any help would be great...?
Cheers
Ian

If I remember correctly (it's a long time since I've set mine off) it should sound the horn.
Have you checked that the horn is working when you press the button on the 'wheel?

If it's the later alarm with the rounded key fob - model 6422 then it uses a siren that is located under the dash in the passenger footwell. Pictures and wiring diagrams are in the Elise Service Manual (which is downloadable off the internet if you do a bit of searching
