Should be loads of good S1's out there for 10k now as a lot are going for 8/9k.

 

I borrowed an S2 135R the other day though and to be honest made the S1 feel tired. I would be looking at one that at least had S2 or Nitrons with upgraded bits like brakes, hoses, tyres etc.. or one priced within budget to add these items.

 

VX a great choice IMHO for road use

Next time I'm over at the the Lyttelton Arms I might ask to borrow the keys saying that...haven't been over that way for ages!

 

Dave - I think I'm going for 2.0 16v in the Golf rather than the G60...but I may see what comes up for sale and see how easy the conversions are.
