JAMES
Since I've had my Elise it seems that so many people feel as though they have to pove to me that there car can go faster than mine especially boy racers! People driving right up my arse trying to get past and just basically being total idiots! I never had this in my other cars Anyone else get this? Kris H
Frequently. Don't rise to it I'd say. Could get very dangerous or nasty. Racing definitely better saved for the track. They may think they're faster but they're probably not, and even if they are, big deal. You are driving round in a nice car and don't have anything to prove. (They are probably a little light in the trouser department anyway.) Kris
Wuddie
Yeah totally agree with Kris..dont rise to this (especially in the winter when roads are wet), as some one could get very badly hurt...let them drive like loons behind you, if they hit you then they will be coughing up to get your car fixed, if they hit some one else like a child then we will have one less toss pot driving around, and his New Cell Mate Bubba will be a happy man! You already know that you drive a fantastic car and they Know it too..So let them be idiots just try to stay out of their way when the fuck it up! I had an idiot follow me one night he was in an old mini, it was raining (not heavy) so i was keeping it conservative minding my own business when he starts to get closer and closer, could see the stitching in his cap he was so close, so i let the traffic ahead get away from us, and as we were going up a hill i planted my foot and pulled away, at the top of the hill the traffic had stopped, so i slowed down enough to come to an easy rest behind the que, anyway DICKLESS in the mini obviously not realising we were all stationary slammed on his anchors and bounced up on to the curb luckily he didnt hit my car and there was no one on the pavement other wise it could have been a lot nastier. JAMES
I'm not alone then No I don't race them or do anything to put myself or others in danger because there the ones who look stupid at the end of the day! I just can't believe how bad some people drive just to try and impress 'that guy in the Elise'! Really all there showing me is they can drive like a total numpty and I'm not impressed at all! Guess its all part of owning a nice sports car
malbon
Never ever happens to me. Get a few people up my arse trying to look what kind of model its is i suppose or seeing what the private plate says. but rarely get any tossers apart from the usual BMW reps on the motorway that i just raise an eyebrow to. Did have a little bit of a late night duel with a Zafira GSi though. I wasn't really racing before I get flamed but he gave me a bit of stick so i accelerated through a few open corners and up onto a dual carriageway till he was a blip on the horizon....only to see him waggoning his way back up to me as I settled on a steady 80mph expecting he'd gone. Coming off the motorway onto a wide slip road that came back onto ourselves he charged past me and took me on the outside corner !!! thought he'd stacked it but the boy did well to keep it upright and get in front of me. got to the traffic lights and he was triumphantly punching the air and shouting to himself praise of victory again i just raised my eyebrow very surpised at the people carriers roadholding bloody 53 plate zafira gsi - probably cost the guy over 20k - what a hoodlum
Bramble111s
I have found a frightening number of white van drivers and big scaffolding lorries seem to want to tailgate me, not that I think this would work, seeing as I only cover their front grill. This obviously happens most in the wet when I am pootling about safely. Because in the dry I accellerate like a man possessed and fly off into the stratosphere of my own omnipotence, just before I disappear up my own arse! (only joking) (back in real life...) I have found a few racer boys in hot hatches, but havn't risen to it, I am afraid I'd lose!
Ladders
I find the boy racers leave you alone! Its the middle aged men in boring saloon cars I find always have a go. Usually they get past as they will overtake with traffic coming the other way or some other dangourous manourve just to get past- just have to sit there and tell yourself that if you were on a track they would have no chance! Anyone else find though that you'll overtake someone, with someone coming towards you on the otherside of the road, say half a mile away. And the person on the otherside will start flashing you and give you agressive hand signals as if your driving like a crazy B@stard! Had this the otherday, woman flashed me, so I just constantly flashed back at her as I was overtaking! She didnt like that, gave me the V's! Scott_Mac
I have the odd tussle with cars - it would be rude not too... I find it more fun meeting fellow MLOCers at traffic lights and leaving them for dust is more fun though
Fiona
Agree with Ladders - it not the boy racers but the old men. Got spat on by a pikey bloke in a van last year. Never seen him before, only pulled up next to him at the lights. Some strange people out there. Fiona

MattyB
I've never had any problems, but then I can't remember the last time I pulled up next to someone who looked like they were interested! Used to get more hassle in the LupoGTi than anything... I just can't be arsed, to be honest. I know its quicker than 89.7% of the stuff out there, and thats good enough for me. Scott_Mac
Do you have proof of your stats Matty? I agree though that i used to have more grief in my 106 than i do in this, but it does tend to be tossers, like a bloke last night in a Rover 214 who decided to drive up behind me really fast and sit on my bumper after i passed him on a dual carriageway

Mark A
I always find a good way of getting the tailgates off your arse is high revs, sudden lift off, and a foot of flame out the exhaust, they tend to back off then
