Advice on doing N500 Scotland

   Thinking of doing the N500 but worried about petrol stops do they the sell the high octane. I'm looking at anywhere between a six to nine day visit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Just back from a weekend in Gairloch in July, 1,000 miles in two days.  didn’t see anywhere selling anything above 95 Ron, K Series S2 so wasn’t a bother for me.  I did have concerns and filled up as often as I could, but was surprised how many places were even open on a Sunday.

Absolutely a must do though, some of the best driving roads in the world (slightly bias being born in Scotland) no speed camera, virtually no traffic police.

Just be careful of the state of the roads you can be on nice smooth tarmac go round a bend and then you are straight onto a cart track with massive pot holes. One stretch near Loch Carron sticks in my mind, big artics coming the other way on a single track stretch just big pot holes everywhere.

Has anyone done the applecross route on here in a Elise does it ground out on the hairpin bends thanks I have been told there got super unleaded up there but it's few and far between ullapool I was told

I did it couple of years ago great fun even in the rain! Biggest issue we had were potholes.
